A long winning streak will end on Monday night in the College World Series when top seeded Oregon State faces 4th seeded LSU.

The Beavers have won 22 straight, while LSU has won 17 in a row. The two teams meet in a winner's bracket contest tonight, after come from behind wins on Saturday.

Oregon State is 55-4 on the season, 14-1 in one-run games. But the Beavers best pitcher is not at the College World Series. Luke Heimlich made the decision not to travel to Omaha, after it was revealed he's a registered sex offender. A newspaper in Oregon made it public that Heimlich pleaded guilty to molesting a young child when he was a teenager.

OSU will send sophomore right-hander Bryce Fehmel to the hill. He's 5-2 on the year with a 3.80 ERA. Fehmel is coming off a complete game victory in the Super Regionals. In that contest he struck out 10, as his off-speed stuff was outstanding.

LSU will start freshman right-hander Eric Walker, who is 8-1 with a 3.46 ERA. Walker pitched very well the last two times out, but did not pitch in the Super Regionals. Walker felt sore after throwing in a simulated game last week, but Coach Paul Mainieri announced Saturday that Walker was 100% and would start on Monday.

Oregon State has six players in their lineup hitting .300 or better led by Nick Madrigal, who is hitting .385, 4 home runs and 37 RBIs. He's only struck out 15 times. KJ Harrison is there big home run hitter with 8 bombs.

While the Beavers have an impressive win-loss record, their strength of schedule ranks 81st in the country according to warrenolan.com.

First pitch is at 6:00pm tonight on WWL 870am and 105.3 WWLfm.
