Crews are trying pump water out of flooded areas in Lafourche Parish and assess damage. A new count shows to 131 homes and 49 public housing units were flooded.
"The water really has only receded maybe 2 or 3 inches," Sgt. Lesley Hill Peters told WWL First News as she made her way through a flooded Raceland neighborhood in a boat. "The parish is going to bring some pumps in here to hopefully get all of this water out of here before the rain that we are expecting for the next couple of days."
Peters says the Sheriff's office has also cited two men who were in an evacuated neighborhood.
"Deputies were stationed in the back of the neighborhood on Triple Oaks, Williams and Brocato Streets throughout the night. Around 9:00pm deputies did find two men at the back of the subdivision and cited them for trespassing, " she said.

Sgt. Peters says they will keep officers in the flooded neighborhoods around the clock to ensure residents' valuable are protected.
The Lafourche Sheriff's Office also released the following:
As of 6:00 AM, 23 people were taking shelter at the Raceland Recreation Center.
Overnight, waters did begin to recede, but the area hardest hit, from Easy Street to the back of the subdivision is still underwater at this time. The Department of Public Safety and Corrections brought in two, fifteen man crews to fill sandbags. 2,500 sandbags were filled at the Lockport barn and the other crew managed to fill 3,000 sandbags at the Thibodaux barn overnight.
The Hollywood Canal is beginning to recede, streets in the Meadowlands community in Thibodaux are now clear of water and at this time deputies are assessing the water situation on Hwy 307.
At this time the following areas are reporting continuing water problems:
• Folse Street in Des Allemands – water on the road
• Logan Street – 5 – 6 inches of water on the road
• 400 Block of Fantastic Acres – water on the road
• Hwy 652 near the crab factory – 3 inches of water on the road
• Hollywood Canal – beginning to recede
• Lefort Bypass – water on the road
