We had between 8,000 and 10,000 customers without power earlier this morning thanks to the overnight storms. Entergy says crews have restored electricity to all but about 3,000 customers. They hope to have everyone restored by about 10:30am.
We a couple of school closures to pass along. St. John the Baptist Parish Public Schools are closed due to transportation challenges. Ben Franklin High School in New Orleans is closed due to a power outage. All other school districts are open.
The pumps appear to have caught up in nearly every area that we saw standing water earlier. Several dozen drivers, however, did stall out in low lying areas between 2am and 5am.
