The Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office has confirmed that a member of the New Orleans Police Department has been arrested on a charge of shoplifting.
The alleged incident occurred late Friday at the J. C. Penny department store at Lakeside Mall.
JPSO Spokesman Co. John Fortunato says NOPD Detective Don Leduff was arrested after stealing a bottle of perfume.
Fortunato said that Leduff was issued a misdemeanor summons for Theft valued under $100.00, and that the JPSO notified the NOPD's public integrity division.
