Officials say a St. Bernard Parish sheriff's deputy shot and killed a man in Arabi.
Sheriff Jack Stephens tells The Times-Picayune the deputy responded early Friday to a domestic complaint call and was talking with a woman when her estranged husband arrived on the scene. After briefly speaking with the deputy, Stephen said the husband pointed a gun at this own mouth.
Stephen said the deputy ordered the man to drop the weapon, but the man instead leveled the gun at the deputy.
He said the deputy then fired on the man.
Deputies have not release the victim's name.
