State AG office raids ACORN office

Investigators with the state attorney General's office today raided the New Orleans offices of ACORN, the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now.

After serving a search warrant, officials removed boxes of documents and computer hardware from the ACORN office on Canal.

No word yet on what the AG's investigators were searching for.

ACORN has been embroiled recently in several controversies, including charges of embezzlement, fighting between the New Orleans and national chapters, and allegations of voter registration fraud by ACORN workers.
