Former New Orleans chief technology officer Greg Meffert, his wife Linda, and city vendor Mark St. Pierre have all been indicted by a federal grand jury, according to published reports.
The U.S. Attorney in New Orleans has scheduled a news conference for later this afternoon to discuss an indictment in a public corruption case.
U.S. Attorney Jim Letten's office isn't releasing any details, but the announcement comes days after a jury found for the plaintiffs in a civil case against former New Orleans technology chief Greg Meffert involving the city of New Orleans' crime camera system. The plaintiffs accused Meffert of conspiring with Dell Computers to steal their technology.
The FBI has been investigating aspects of the crime camera system. Meffert was called before a federal grand jury during that investigation.
