Saints fans ready to see the Falcons' wings clipped

A Monday Night Football game in New Orleans qualifies as an unofficial holiday. Many Saints fans took the day off to set up their tailgate parties in parking lots and other vacant areas near the Superdome.

RVs, barbecue trailers, folding chairs and collapsible shelters dot areas near the stadium. Some people showed up early in the morning, others started their setup as early as Sunday night.

"We spent the night because we want to make sure we got our spot," said one citizen of the Who Dat Nation who normally doesn't get that early a start, even for a noon kickoff. "You know, usually a lot of people park here to go to work."

And since tonight's opponent is the sworn enemy of the Who Dat Nation, the hated Atlanta Falcons, Saints fans are ready to go to war.

"We're going to have a dirty bird beat-down, baby. Dirty bird beat-down," said a tailgating fan.

Another listed off his tailgate menu: "Chickens, some ribs, some bratwurst, some hot sausage. Whatever we can throw on the grill. A couple of falcons."
