Cops: 12 and 14-year old girls victims in sexual assault

Northshore cops say two Slidell men sexually assaulted a pair of young sisters.

"A 19 year old Slidell man (Arturo Govea) has been booked with aggravated rape after admitting to Sheriff's Office detectives he had sex with a 12 year old Pearl River area girl," Capt. George Bonnett said in a news release. "Elias Hernandez, had sex with the victim's 14 old sister during the same weekend. Hernandez was also arrested and booked with felony carnal knowledge of a juvenile and contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile.

Bonnett says the case started more than two weeks ago,

"The Sheriff's Office received a missing persons complaint on October 10th when the victim and her two sisters failed to return home," he said.

Police determined that a friend of one of the girls brought them to a house on Ashville Drive in Slidell.

"Investigators found the girls and returned them to their residence. Numerous Hispanic males who occupied the residence were questioned, during which Govea admitted to detectives he had sexual intercourse with the victim sometime during the weekend of October 10th - 11th," said Bonnett. "A member of the Slidell Police department has been involved in the investigation as the activity occurred within Slidell city limits."
