The Washington Parish Free Fair continues through Saturday night in Franklinton.
The fair, started in 1911, attracts over 200,000 people over a four-day run every October, according to Jenine Bickham, publicity chairwoman for the Fair.
She says one thing that sets the Franklinton Fair apart from other Louisiana festivals is the lack of alcohol on the grounds.
"No alcohol...we try to keep it family-friendly, keep the picnic spirit here, to where it can not cause a problem for all the young children that come here..to have a good time," she said.
In addition to country-style food, the fair features a world-class rodeo, a carnival midway, and two stages of entertainment.
Officials say the Washington Parish Fair has only missed two falls in the last 98 years: Once, in the 1930s due to a flu epidemic, and one year during WWII.
