Nude burglar charged after changing story

Slidell Police believe they have cracked the case of the mysterious "naked burglar."

A man cops identified as 50-year-old Keith Potter turned himself in and was booked with felony burglary.

Caught on a security video, a nude Potter allegedly dismantled the home's alarm, broke into the house in Country Club Estates, ate, drank and showered before leaving.

Captain Kevin Foltz says when they identified Potter and called him, he initially said that he suffered from a diabetic reaction. Foltz says the suspect later changed his story.

''His interview contradicted that by telling us that he had been drinking and taking medication that did not belong to him,'' Foltz told WWL First News. "We think the combination of all of that led to his actions.''

Foltz says Potter was booked at the Slidell jail for burglary, and bond was set at $20,000. The home owner, who was out of town at the time of the break in, is said to be relieved.
