St. Tammany Sheriff's investigators say a Pearl River woman opened fire on her husband after he admitted to an affair that happened quite some time ago.
"This apparently stemmed from an affair which occurred over a decade ago," according to Sheriff spokesman Captain George Bonnett.
Police say the incident occurred Tuesday afternoon when Connie Davis questioned her husband about an affair that happened in the 1990's.
Bonnette told WWL First News that when the husband admitted to the infidelity, the wife shot him five times with a .410 revolver.
Listen to Bonnett talk about the incident:
Investigators say the birdshot hit the husband in the back as he attempted to flee through his back yard. The man contacted his co-workers over a two-way radio, and the co-workers called 911.
According to Bonnette, deputies stopped Mrs. Davis a short time later on Gause Blvd. in Slidell and took her into custody without incident.
Deputies say she had a spent shotgun shell in her pocket and the gun on her front seat.
