The three-day Louisiana Catfish Festival continues through Saturday and Sunday in Des Allemands, "The Catfish Capital of the Universe."
The event is hosted by, and benefits, the St. Gertrude Catholic Church at 17292 Louisiana 631.
Organizers say chefs will use about 3,000 pounds of catfish this year to make every imaginable catfish recipe, including catfish platters, boats, po-boys and sauce piquante
Admission and parking are free.
The festival runs through 11 p.m. Saturday night, and from 10 to 9 on Sunday.
