LSU is making a change to its football jersey for the upcoming season. "LSU" will appear on the front of the uniform.
"We've looked at the Jerseys as far back as we have records and it's believed that this is the first time that 'LSU' will actually be on the jersey," Sports Information Director Michael Bonnette said.
"It will be placed right below the neck line and right above the number, " Bonnette said. "It's a small addition, but we think with the new SEC contract that will require every game being on TV, this is a great opportunity for us to continue to market our brand."
"It's a subtle change," Bonnett said.
The Tigers open their 2009 football season at the University of Washington on September 5th.
LSU begins fall practice in less than 30 days.
