New Orleans will host a Final Four and the Super Bowl in the next few years. Officials are now expanding the big sports events they will try to attract after that.
Folks at the Superdome and New Orleans Arena want to try and attract another NBA All Star game and are looking to other major even.
"We're working with World Wrestling Entertainment on the WrestleMania bid for 2014," Dome General Manager Alan Freeman said.
They are also interested in international soccer's biggest event.
"We're also working with the United States Soccer Federation as they prepare their bids to host the World Cup in 2018 and 2022," Freeman said. "The first step for us to be a part of that picture is for the United States to be awarded the right to host the World Cup in either of those two years. Then, if that happens, they'll starting working with various cities to host the 12 or 14 different sites they use."
