Thorman's Homer Leads Royals Past Z's

After erasing an early deficit, the Zephyr bullpen gave up the go-ahead run in the ninth inning as the Z's fell to Omaha 4-3.

Clay Hensley got off to a rough start, allowing three runs on three hits in the first inning. He was able to settle down and give the Zephyrs 5.2 innings, only allowing the three runs.

Willie Collazo kept the Zephyrs in the game, escaping a sixth-inning jam as the Z's tied the score in the bottom of the frame.

John Lindsey had a two RBI single in the third inning to cut the Royals' lead down to one, and in the sixth, Gaby Sanchez crushed a leadoff double and scored on an error by Omaha shortstop Mario Lisson to tie the game.

In the ninth, Levale Speigner loaded the bases with no outs, then allowed a one-out sacrifice fly to Cory Aldridge to give the Royals a 4-3 lead. Speigner (3-2) took the loss, while Chris Hayes picked up the win in relief for Omaha.

New Orleans will be in action again Thursday when they take on Round Rock at Dell Diamond Stadium. John Koronka (LHP) will face off against Jeremy Johnson (RHP) in the first game of the four-game series for both teams.
