LSU-Virginia CWS Game Set for Saturday, 6 p.m.




Third-seeded LSU will square off with Virginia on day 1 of the 2009 College World Series, Saturday, June 13, at 6 p.m. CT, the NCAA announced on Monday evening. All games will be played at Rosenblatt Stadium in Omaha, Neb.

The CWS field was completed late Monday, as top-seeded Texas eliminated TCU.

LSU (51-16) advanced to its 15th CWS by defeating Rice in consecutive games, 12-9 and 5-3, at Alex Box Stadium.

Virginia needed road victories over UC Irvine in the NCAA Regional and Ole Miss in the Super Regional to advance to Omaha for the first time.
