Jay Vise

A member of the WWL news staff since December of 2007, Jay has been in radio since 1986.  He's a native of Washington Parish, and after receiving his undergraduate degree from LSU, he earned a juris doctorate from the Loyola School of Law in New Orleans.  As an anchor and reporter, Jay's legal background and training has been an additional asset to an already nationally-known news department.

In broadcasting since high school, Jay says he started out hosting the local "Swap Shop" on a small North Shore station. He grew up listening to 870 AM, and says he is honored to be a part of a station that was such a big part of his early life.

Jay has lived most of his life in Southeast Louisiana, except for a 5-year stint in Texas. "One of the things that drew me back to Louisiana was the sheer volume of interesting news here," he said.  "There is more real news to cover in New Orleans in a week than there is in some other cities in a year."

Jay is a self-described "weather geek," and enjoys the outdoors.  He's a fanatical LSU and Saints fan, and also a big fan of local high school football.

You can reach Jay via email at jay@wwl.com , and at 504-593-6397.
