Repairs planned for levees breached in Sept.

Terrebonne Parish officials are planning to repair and raise levees protecting Montegut and Pointe-aux-Chenes that were breached during September's hurricanes.

The parish is giving the Terrebonne Levee Board $500,000 in emergency money and has requested more from federal community block grants to help pay for the repairs.

Officials hope to raise and repair the levee before June 1, the start of hurricane season.
