Vince Marinello's defense team rested their case today in Lafayette, and the jury is now deliberating the fate of the former broadcaster.
Earlier today, Marinello returned to the witness stand. During this morning's continued cross-examination by prosecutors, the questioning and back-and-forth between the opposing camps became so heated, the judge called both sides to the bench.
Assistant District Attorney Tommy Block grilled Marinello about his alibi, pointing out apparent factual differences between Marinello's cell phone record and his claim that he was in Byron, Mississippi at the time of the shooting.
According to cell-phone experts, Marinello received a call at 5:15 in Fluker, Louisiana, about 100 Miles from Byron.
ADA Block said to Marinello, "for you to drive a 100 miles in 45 minutes, you would have to have been traveling in excess of 133 miles per hour. Does a Ford Taurus go that fast?"
Marinello responded, "No, sir."
After closing arguments and jury instructions by the Judge, the question of Vince Marinello's innocence or guilt will be in the hands of the jury.
