There's a party this morning to mark the arrival of a new museum in New Orleans.
"The Museum of the American Cocktail which celebrates and preserves cocktail traditions throughout the country," says Elizabeth Pearce. She's a curator at the Southern Food and Beverage Museum which houses the cocktail museum.
The public is invited to the grand opening event at 10:30am at the Riverwalk Mall.
Pearce says they are celebrating eating and drinking in New Orleans. "It is absolutely crucial to the identity of the people in this city... It's why we live."
Listen to Pearce:
The fun includes cocktail tastings. There are also non-alcoholic drinks. "For those of use who have to go to work after there will be coffee and some virgin variety of milk punch," says Pearce.
