Norman Robinson flips car in alleged drunk driving crash

WDSU TV News Anchor Norman Robinson is out of jail after posting a $6,000 bond.  The veteran anchorman was booked into New Orleans Central Lock Up early Saturday morning for allegedly driving drunk.

New Orleans Police say Robinson flipped his car while driving in Algiers.  There were no other vehicles involved and Robinson was not injured.

Police say he had a blood alcohol level of .13, while .08 is the legal limit.

What does this mean for Robinson's job?  On its website, the TV station says, "WDSU management has spoken with Robinson and is evaluating the situation."

The site also quotes WDSU's General Manager as saying, "Norman is a colleague, a friend and an asset to this community."  The station says Robinson has worked there for 18 years.

Robinson was booked into jail around 9:00am Saturday.  Police did not immediately release details on the time or exact location of the single vehicle crash.

Published reports also cite unnamed sources saying that  Robinson urinated in front of officers at the scene of the crash and was cited for public urination.
