The number of candidates considering challenging indicted Congressman Bill Jefferson is growing.
Today State Representative Cedric Richmond throws his hat in the ring.
"Working people are hurting and Washington doesn't get it," Richmond says in his news release announcing his candidacy. "Washington is more concerned about special interest groups."
With qualifying for the fall primaries less than a month away, more names are surfacing.
Analysts say other potential candidates include New Orleans City Councilman Arnie Fielkow, Jefferson Parish Councilman Byron Lee, State Representative Juan LaFonta and State Representative Karen Carter Peterson.
