Chief Serpas announces arrests in Burgundy Street shooting

NOPD Superintendent Ronal Serpas says two arrests have been made in the August 10, shooting on Burgundy Street that killed two individuals and wounded five others.

The chief says the two include the suspected shooter and an accomplace who allegedly drove the car involved in the drive-by shooting. He noted that the alleged killer had been arrested many times before and should have been in jail.

Serpas says 20-year-old Blair Taylor (right) is the alleged killer and 25-year-old Jeffery Rivers (left) was allegedly behind the wheel when police say Taylor sprayed a porch full of people with bullets.

The shooting occurred shortly before 8 p.m. Sunday in New Orleans' Lower 9th Ward.

Police said that Terrance McBride, the 33-year-old man who was killed, was the intended target of the shooters. Sixteen-year-old Jasmine Anderson also was killed.

The wounded include a two-year-old and a four-year-old.
