Nagin files notice of appeal

Convicted former New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin has filed his appeal. A federal jury in February convicted Nagin on 20 of 21 counts of bribery and other forms of public corruption.

He's set to report to prison September 8. Last week, a federal judge ordered Nagin to serve a ten-year sentence. He would be eligible for release after eight-and-a-half years.

Last week, Robert Jenkins, Nagin's attorney, told WWL's Angela Hill that he will stay on as Nagin's attorney through the appeals process.
