Homemade Blowtorch to Kill a Spider - Sure, Why Not?

A West Seattle man spotted a spider in his house on Tuesday, and decided he must get rid of it.

So, he grabbed a can of spray paint and a cigarette lighter and created the ArachNoTorch 2000 – a makeshift blowtorch certain to incinerate the eight-legged pest

And it probably did. Except it also set the house the spider was in on fire, causing $60,000 worth of damage to the home and immeasurable damage to the guy’s self-esteem.

A spokesman for the local fire department pointed out that “fire is not the method to use to kill a spider.”
Good to know.
