Louisiana has some of the lowest gas prices in the nation.
According to the American Automobile Association the average price for regular gasoline in Louisiana is $3.40. Only Mississippi and Missouri are slightly lower. But AAA spokesperson Mike Right says Louisiana residents are paying a little more for gas this year.
"Last year the price was averaging $3.32, but we are well below the national average, currently the national average is $3.65," according to Right.
Right says AAA is expecting gas prices to remain steady through the summer months.
He says there's a good supply of gasoline in the United States, but there's also been an uptick in demand, which will prevent any relief at the pump.
