You can finally pay with a credit or debit card when you go to get a driver's license or other services from the state's Office of Motor Vehicles.
"Motor Vehicle Offices across the state of Louisiana have implemented and installed devices that allow citizens to pay their fees utilizing debit cards, credit cards and e-checks," Captain M. Doug Cain said in a news release.
People have often complained about having to bring the needed cash to the OMV or having to go to an ATM after waiting in often long lines.
"This enhancement provides convenience and is currently functional in all Motor Vehicle Offices across the state," according to Cain.
There is an added expense if you use the newly accepted payment methods.
"Presently, there is a convenience fee of $1.25 plus 1% of total charge on all debit and credit card transactions and a flat $1.00 convenience fee on all e-checks."
