Saints scheduled for 15 days of practice in WV, 6 in Metairie, 1 in Mandeville

West Virginia, Metairie and Mandeville -- these are some of the places you'll get to see the Saints before the regular season begins in September.

Saints players report to camp at the Greenbrier resort in the mountains of West Virginia on July 24. They have fifteen days of practice scheduled at The Greenbrier, including twelve two-a-days.

WWL Saints color commentator Hokie Gajan says it can be good for the team to get them out of town.

"It helps the guys kind of focus on the one thing, and that's football. You don't have the distractions," he said. "You're there, and you're there for solely one reason, and that's training camp."

Listen to WWL's Hokie Gajan:

The team returns mid-August, for the pre-season game versus Tennessee at the Superdome. After that, they have seven public sessions on the schedule, including one in Mandeville on August 20. The Saints break camp August 27, right before their final pre-season game against the Baltimore Ravens, at the Superdome on August 28.

The Saints' regular season begins Sunday, September 7, at Atlanta.
