Man selling car online gets robbed

New Orleans Police say a man trying to buy a car on the Internet became the victim of an armed robbery.

"The victim stated that he was in contact with a man named 'Angelo' through craigslist," according to a news release from the NOPD.

Officials say that the victim and 'Angelo' agreed to meet in the 2900 block of Hudson Place and exchange the Volkswaggon Passat for $3500.

"During the Possible sale of the vehicle 'Angelo' took the victim for a test drive.  During the drive 'Angelo' produced a black semi-automatic pistol," police say.

The victim says that the suspect told him, "you know what time it is."

"The victim handed over $3500 in cash to 'Angelo' and was let out of the vehicle.  'Angelo' is described as a black male, medium build, short black hair and clean shaven. If anyone has information on this Armed Robbery or the full identity of "Angelo" or the location of the Volkswaggon Passat please contact the 4th District at 658-6045."
