Now we're Cooks-in', Who Dat Nation!

A new target for Drew Brees: that's what the Saints got when they picked wide receiver Brandin Cooks out of Oregon State in the first round of the NFL Draft.  The Who Dat Nation seems to like it.

"I think it's a good pick, getting somebody with some speed," one fan told us this morning.

"It's definitely the piece we were missing," another agreed. "Since Devery Henderson left, we haven't had anybody to stretch the field."

Listen to the Who Dat Nation react to the Cooks pick:

Not everyone thought it was the best move.

"I would have liked to have seen them go on the defensive side of the ball," was one dissenting opinion.

Another fan said he thinks there's a hole in the backfield that needs to be filled: "Honestly, I don't think we should have got rid of (Darren) Sproles. I think we need another good running back."

Some fans say Cooks brings skills that Sproles provided.

"Definitely, definitely, especially with the offense that we've had in the past. I'm hoping he can replace Sproles," was one comment.

"After losing Lance Moore and Sproles, we lost some speed, so I think it was a good pick," said another.

A few draft experts say Cook compares favorably to a player a lot of Saints fans are familiar with... and absolutely hate: Steve Smith, who gashed the black and gold for years in Carolina.

The Saints pick again tonight in the second round.

"Bow Down When you Come to My Town" was once a hot tune by Westside Connection in the 90's, and it came to mind last Thursday night when I drove home and was listening to a beat-down in Seattle. I've seen a bunch of beat downs, but rarely one as...

Kristian: Saints are focusing on the details
The little things: The little things get you beat. A play here and a play there in the NFL really is the difference between being 0-2 and 2-0. The Saints say the harsh reality of their 0-2 start is about paying attention to the little things: "We just...

Monday Morning QB: Brees says "we have to stick together"
Sure, it's not the start the Saints envisioned, but as many have said in the past, you are what your record says you are in the NFL - and the Saints are 0 and 2 for a reason. "Typically a play here, a play there, you can't describe. A lot of these games...
