Jim Hanzo is a 38 year radio veteran. Born in New Orleans, raised in St. Bernard Parish, and has lived in Kenner for the past 20 years, Jim has spent all but 3 years working in the New Orleans market.
He's worked on air for Lite 105 FM for 13 years, where he served as Music Director for two years and Program Director for two years.
Jim also programmed and did the morning show on 92.3.
Jim also worked for 106.1 doing mornings on the True Oldies Channel.
Last year Jim said he caught a lucky break coming to Entercom Communications where he became the "jack of all trades" working on Magic 101.9, Bayou 95.7, and doing Traffic reports for most of the Entercom stations.
"When you have your hand in everything, you actually get a real good feel of how everything is operating, and the job becomes so much easier," said Jim.
Eventually he moved into the news department at WWL AM & FM where he says he loves the excitement and fast paced world of radio news. He says its the hardest he's worked but the hours fly by at an unbelievable pace.
"I count my blessings everyday that I have been lucky to do what I absolutely adore, 'radio'," says Jim.
"I don't get a charge out of anything else like radio gives me."
Jim Hanzo is married to the love of his life, Michelle, who he met in radio. They also have 2 beautiful girls together.
Jim has an older daughter from a previous marriage and a granddaughter, Abbigail.
An avid runner, Jim enjoys exercise and spending time with his family.
