Kenner cops catch alleged playground drug dealer

Kenner police say a man was dealing drugs at playground.

"Joseph Staehle, 18, who resides at 3545 Tulane Drive, in Kenner was arrested by the Kenner Police Narcotics Investigative Division," Sergeant Brian McGregor said in a news release.  "Staehle was the target of an undercover operation, in which the Kenner Police Department received numerous complaints from citizens... that Staehle was distributing narcotics."

He says undercover cops went to the Woodlake Playground at 131 West Esplanade Avenue.

"Detectives made six (6) separate purchases of marijuana from Staehle, in addition, to four (4) tablets of Hydrocodone.  Staehle distributed the illegal narcotics within a designated drug free zone," McGregor stated.

They arrested the suspect on more than a dozen charges.

His bond was set at $207,500.
