Detectives working to determine facts after woman reports abuduction and rape



New Orleans police are investigating after a woman reported she was kidnapped from the French Quarter and raped.

The NOPD today described it as an "ongoing investigation."  

The 30-year-old woman told officers she had been at a bar and got separated from her friends.  According to the woman's account, she wound up in the 700 block of Royal Street.

She told police that was when a man asked her if she was lost, and forced her into an SUV with three other men.

The woman says she was taken somewhere and raped.

She told detectives it happened around 11:30 Friday night.  The next day the woman was treated at LSU Interim Hospital, and reported the incident to police around 5:15 p.m. Saturday.

Investigators are still trying to confirm the facts in the case.

The woman offered descriptions of the suspects, saying one was a husky white man with brown dreadlocks pulled back and a pierced right eyebrow.

She said another attacker was a tall, thin, black man with curly blonde hair.

The woman described another suspect as a thin white man with long, blonde-brownish hair in dreadlocks.
