Grand jury ends term without action on Marigny homeowner booked in teen's shooting
A grand jury has ended its six-month term without taking action in the case of Merritt Landry.
Landry is the Faubourg Marigny homeowner who shot an unarmed teenager in July. Landry said the 14-year-old boy was on his property and he shot him in self defense. The teen, Marshall Coulter, was hit in the head and severely inured.
Security video showed the teen climbing a fence to get onto Landry's property. Police booked Landry for attempted second degree murder.
A spokesman for the district attorney's office says the case is still considered open.
