LSU sending 11 players to the NFL Combine

Nearly a dozen football players from LSU will show off their skills for NFL teams at the league's annual combine.

"A total of 11 LSU football players have received an invitation to compete in the annual NFL Combine which will be held Feb. 22-25 at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis,"  LSU's Michael Bonnette said in a news release. "Players will be put through a series of tests, including the much-publicized 40-yard dash and the 225-pound bench press. They will also be measured in the vertical jump, the broad jump, the 3-cone drill and the shuttle run."

The players are:

QB Zach Mettenberger
RB Jeremy Hill
RB Alfred Blue
WR Odell Beckham Jr.
WR Jarvis Landry
OG Trai Turner
DT Ego Ferguson
DT Anthony Johnson
LB Lamin Barrow
S Craig Loston

In addition to the drills and workouts, the players will also take tests and sit down with interested teams.  Bonnette describes it as, "basically a job interview with potential NFL teams."

The combine includes 300 college players.

"Following the NFL Combine, the 11 Tigers will then get ready for LSU's Pro Day, which will be held in April with the NFL Draft to follow on May 8-10 in New York City."
