LSU's Johnny O' Bryant III scored a season-high 29 points and grabbed nine rebounds to lead the way as the Tigers defeated 11th ranked Kentucky 87-82.
Shavon Coleman also had a double-double as he scored 14 points and nine rebounds. Freshman Jordan Mickey had 14 points, six rebounds and five blocked shots.
Even though the Pete Maravich Assembly Center was less than half full, because of the icy weather outside, the Tigers started the game on fire. LSU jumped out to a 22-6 lead, but Kentucky made a run and LSU led 42-36 at half.
The Tigers started the 2nd half strong and quickly regained their double digit lead and went on to win by five points.
The win gives LSU a signature win on the season and helps boost their NCAA Tournament resume. The Tigers will try to make it two in a row this Saturday against Arkansas.
