Jefferson Parish Winter updates



All Jefferson Parish government offices will re-open tomorrow, Thursday, January 30, 2014, during regular business hours. Jefferson Parish employees will return to work as scheduled tomorrow.
 
Notice to Jefferson Parish water bill customers who pay their water bills due this week in-person or by phone: A late charge will not be assessed due to the government office closures. Bills may be paid in-person at the following locations:
Joseph S. Yenni Building, 1221 Elmwood Park Boulevard
Bill Pay Center at 4500 Westbank Expressway
Bill Pay Center at 721 Terry Parkway
 
HEAD START CENTER IN GRAND ISLE WILL REMAIN CLOSED TOMORROW
 
JEFFERSON TRANSIT HAS RESUMED FULL SERVICE
 
HARD FREEZE WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL THURSDAY 9AM
 
The elevated Westbank Expressway is open in both directions, however, with a hard freeze warning in effect, it is possible any remaining ice or water on elevated roads or bridges will re-freeze once temperatures drop to freezing or below freezing later this evening.
 
The Lapalco Bridge at the Harvey Canal is now open.
 
All lanes are open on LA 3139, the Earhart Expressway, in both directions from Dickory Avenue to the Jefferson/Orleans Parish line.
 
Louisiana Hwy 1 at Leeville Bridge is now open.
 
The Causeway Bridge remains closed, however, Causeway overpasses at Veterans Boulevard, Airline Drive, and Jefferson Highway are now open.
 
Interstate-10 through Jefferson Parish remains closed, at this time.
 
Updates on openings or closures of state roads from the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) are available online at http://www8.dotd.la.gov/home.aspx.
 
Entergy reports power has been restored to all Grand Isle customers.
 
Louis Armstrong International Airports expects all flights to resume today. It is advisable to check with airlines directly or online at http://www.flymsy.com/PageDisplay.asp?p1=18260.
