More info on Sharper rape allegation in New Orleans



New Orleans Police have released some more details of the rape allegation against former Saints player Darren Sharper.

The report shows that a 25-year-old woman claimed that Shaper took her back to his apartment in the Warehouse District and sexually assaulted her.  She told police she "did not consent" to sex.

The woman told cops she had been out drinking and consumed "a large amount of alcohol" before meeting Sharper at one of the bars the night of September 23rd.

Police learned of the alleged assault on September 24th.

The investigation is continuing.

Here is the full "narrative" from the police report:

ON 09/24/2013 DETECTIVE DERRICK WILLIAMS OF THE NEW ORLEANS POLICE DEPARTMENT SPECIAL VICTIMS SECTION INVESTIGATED THE SEXUAL ASSAULT OF A TWENTY-FIVE YEAR OLD FEMALE.

THE VICTIM STATED SHE CONSUMED A LARGE AMOUNT OF ALCOHOL ON SUNDAY SEPTEMBER 23, 2013.

THE VICTIM STATED SHE WENT TO A COUPLE BARS WHERE SHE CONTINUED HAVING ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES. THE VICTIM STATED SHE MET THE PERPETRATOR AT ONE OF THE BARS, AND HE TOOK HER TO HIS APARTMENT AND SEXUALLY ASSAULTED HER.

THE VICTIM STATED SHE DID NOT CONSENT TO ANY SEXUAL ENCOUNTER.

A spokesman for the District Attorney says they will review the evidence.

"New Orleans police received a complaint from an alleged victim," Spokesman Chris Bowman said. "The police referred the case to our office for consultation. The matter is currently under investigation and we will make no further comment on any matter under investigation."

Los Angeles Police have charged Sharper with rape after two complaints there.  He is free on bond and scheduled to appear in court February 14th.

Sharper has not returned calls.
