Another freeze headed for Southeast Louisiana
Another round of cold weather is heading for Louisiana.
"We have a hard freeze warning on the Northshore," Channel 4 Meteorologist Laura Buchtel said. "Take care of your pipes tonight north of the lake."
She says temperatures are falling through the day today with arctic air moving in by Wednesday morning.
"We are going to be in the 20's north and low 30's south."
She says we warm up a bit through the midweek, before more cold air at the end of the week.
"Wednesday, highs only around 50... Thursday, a little bit of a rebound - around 56," Buchtel forecasts. "Another shot of some cold air arrives on Friday."
Friday and Saturday morning will see more 20's and 30's across the region.
There is also the potential that some of the region could see some frozen precipitation.
"It's 20 percent chance," Buchtel explained. "A slight chance that well north of us there could be a few sleet pellets mixed in as the moisture moves out on Friday morning."
Friday's high is expected to be 45.
Saturday warming into the 50, with 60's for the weekend.
