Brees willing to discuss contract, still improving

Saints quarterback Drew Brees says he is still improving as a player and has not peaked yet.  He also told reporters he would entertain discussions of reworking his contract to free up cash to sign other players.

"Whatever helps this team win and puts the best team on the field," the QB said.  "Whatever I can do to help this team, if they want to come to me and extend me even further that would be great (laughter). There are so many possibilities of what could happen here. Let's just let this offseason start."

Brees added that he thinks he has room to get even better and has not lost anything as a player.

"Physically, mentally, psychologically; I still feel like I'm on this upward tick. I certainly won't let myself believe otherwise."

Coach Sean Payton says Drew has plenty left in the tank.

"With regards to... Drew Brees... that window is still all the way open, and I mean that.  We are always in a constant change if you will of taking in the new players, evaluating this team and then going through the process of beginning to assembling the 2014 team.  That window for us each year is slammed open," Payton said.

He says the same goes for the team as whole.

"Honestly the window, as long as I am the head coach here, we are trying to slam it open always... We are always in a constant change if you will of taking in the new players, evaluating this team and then going through the process of beginning to assembling the 2014 team.  That window for us each year is slammed open."
