Gannett Newspapers in Louisiana are reporting that LSU running back Jeremy Hill plans on returning for his Junior season. According to the report, Hill, who rushed for 14-hundred yards, is expected to make his decision official on Monday in a news conference. NFL Draft Analyst Mike Detillier says many people would be surprised if Hill made the choice to play another year for the Tigers.
"If you pulled 100 people that covered LSU, 99 in 100 would bet that Jeremy Hill would be the most likely to leave," Detillier says.
Associate Tiger Rag Editor Luke Johnson says having Hill back for the 2014 season is important because LSU is unsure of who the quarterback will be. Having Hill play another season will give the new QB someone to rely on.
"His best skill is the combination of power and speed. You don't see that often, you barely ever see it. It's so rare," Johnson says.
Johnson says Hill may be concerned about how the people of Baton Rouge view him. Hill has gotten in trouble with the law during his time in high school and college. He believes Hill wants to prove he is a great football player and get another chance to show that he is also a good person.
"He wants to leave his mark here in a positive way here, more than just being an all SEC football player," Johnson says.
