NOPD: Road rage lands driver in jail

New Orleans Police say they have arrested a man who allegedly pulled out a gun during a road rage incident and threatened another driver.

"The victim advised that he was traveling southbound on South Carrollton Ave.... The perpetrator pulled next to the victim, lowered his passenger side window, yelling threats at the victim then pointed a black handgun at the victim," the NOPD said in a news release."

The victim indicated the suspect was angry after the victim turned onto South Claiborne and merged into traffic.

The release says, "Victim stated that he slowed down and got behind the perpetrator's vehicle and copied the license plate."

Investigators questioned 56-year-old Jose Galeas (above).

"Detectives received a tape confession from Galeas stating that he committed an Aggravated Assault by a Firearm."

They subsequently arrested Galeas.
