Jobless rate down, but most Americans sour on economy

While the nation's unemployment rate is now at a five year low, most Americans (61%) continue to say the economy is in bad shape.

A CBS News, New York Times Poll finds 37% now think the economy is good.

That's a slight uptick from last month and at the same level it was in the summer.

Many Americans blame President Obama for what they feel is a poor economy.

Of the respondents, 58% say they disapprove of the president's handling of the economy.  Only 37% approve.
