Saints beat Panthers 31-13

The Saints improved to 10 - 3 on the season and took control of the NFC South by beating the Carolina Panthers 31- 13 on Sunday Night Football.

Drew Brees set a new NFL record by getting to 50,000 yards passing faster than any QB has ever done before.  He also notched the record as the only NFL quarterback to have six consecutive seasons with 30 or more touchdowns.

Brees threw four TD's in the game, two to  Marques Colston and two to Jimmy Graham.

Saints linebacker Junior Galette had 3 sacks.

The Panthers took control of the game early on, but had to settle for field goals when the Saints defense stiffened near the end zone on two big drives.

The Saints failed to score in the first quarter, but took over the game in the second quarter.  The Black and Gold scored three touchdowns in the second quarter.

Brees and company added ten more points in the second half, while all the Panthers could put on the scoreboard was one touchdown in the fourth quarter.

"I was pleased... with how we played," Saints Coach Sean Payton said after the game.  "I thought our guys were resilient."

"We are happy for him and obviously proud of him," Payton said of Brees' latest records.

Deke: NFL Top Ten, week eleven
The only team from the NFC West in my top ten is Arizona? Yes! Man the AFC is the far better conference right now. Only four of 16 teams in the AFC have a losing record whereas half of the NFC's teams are losers, including a team (Saints) that leads a...

Still in it: The Saints are still very much still in the race for the NFC south at 4 and 6. Whether or not you think they're a playoff caliber team is a different story. Saints linebacker Curtis Lofton and the team are trying to find as much positive...

Cop a feel: It's not every day that football player jumps into your arms during an NFL game, and Saints tight end Jimmy Graham did that last week after scoring a touchdown against the 49ers "That will probably be my last one too after getting groped...
