An Amite Police officer, who was also a fire fighter in Roseland, faces six counts of arson after police there say he set six fires in the past two weeks.
They say 23-year-old Lee Widas was arrested after a fire broke out early Saturday morning.
Widas is accused of setting fires at a school, a playground concession stand, a mobile home, a restroom and two vacant homes.
Amite Fire Chief Bruce Cutrer says Widas was arrested after the latest fire, which broke out Saturday.
