Five Saints players were sidelined today during the first practice of the week for the Cowboys game.
Jimmy Graham, Malcolm Jenkins, Jahri Evans, Cam Jordan and David Hawthorne sat out with injuries.
There was some encouraging news. Marques Colston returned to practice on a limited basis after missing the last game, and Darren Sproles was able to fully take part in practice after leaving last Sunday's game with a concussion.
WWL Saints Sideline reporter Kristian Garic also reports that the Saints have also placed linebacker Jonathan Vilma on injured reserve. He is done for the season and may never play in a Saints uniform again.

His teams are always "capable," his opponents are "always of quality," and his players enjoy the "want to win." Say what? Those are just a few of the things that we've heard come out of Les Miles.

I woke up this morning walked out of my hotel room and said "whoa!" I had to go back and change my clothes. Thank goodness I wisely packed some long wind pants, sweat pants and a couple of my favorite Saints long tops.

Sean Payton is measured and controlled during Saints practices, but Joe Vitt (assistant head coach and LB's Coach) is not. He's the fiery coach that is unwavering on rookies and veterans alike, taking every possible moment to coach.
The Saints have tremendous depth at safety, and an undrafted rookie free agent would be hard pressed to make this team at that position.
Even so, that didn't stop Pierre Warren from choosing to sign in New Orleans after he went undrafted out of...
9 on 7: The Saints offensive line set the tone early in practice with a physical "inside running game" drill. Defensive coaches Joe Vitt and Rob Ryan expressed their displeasure through a number of choice words that not suitable for print or the air,...
Thud: The Saints finally had the pads on for today's practice at the Greenbrier. No more shorts and a game of touch. Helmets were cracking, and the pads were popping in 9-on-7 running game drills today. The O-Line got the better of the D-line in this...
