Is there any good reason to stay in a bad marriage?

Why do people stay in loveless marriages? A recent British study shows one in ten feels they are stuck in that kind of union
and 15% of those studied wished they'd married someone else.
This study shows some really depressing news about the state of most marriages, including the fact that one in four say they're only together for the sake of the kids. But is that a good reason?
"Lots of times it gets unbearable and people want out, but they don't think through the consequences. And there are significant consequences," says Dr. Martin Drell, the head of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at LSU Health Sciences Center.
He says staying together for the children's sake is not a good idea if there is a lot of conflict, fighting and yelling going on in the home. "The research also shows if people continue in their relationship yelling and screaming, even after the divorce, that's an even bigger problem for the kids."
One fifth of those studied claim to have had an affair and only 55% feel marriage is for life."
