A handful of LSU Tigers are making waves in the NFL. Here's a look at a half a dozen NFL players from LSU and their performances Sunday.
Stevan Ridley: RB, New England Patriots
Ridley rushed 14 times for 79 yards (good for 5.6 yards per carry). His 4th quarter touchdown salted away the victory for the Patriots over the Dolphins. Ridley's really come on the past few weeks and has 399 yards and 4 touchdowns on the ground for the year.
Tyrann Mathieu: DB, Arizona Cardinals
Mathieu is putting together quite a rookie campaign. In a victory over the Atlanta Falcons, Mathieu logged 7 total tackles, 2 pass deflections, and hauled in an interception. On the year, Mathieu has 49 total tackles, 5 pass deflections, and two interceptions.
Eric Reid: DB, San Francisco 49ers
Reid is another rookie defensive back from LSU who has been performing well for his team. He had a great game against Jacksonville, notching 8 total tackles and 1 pass deflection. San Francisco lost Pro-Bowl safety DashonGoldson to free agency, but Reid – a 1st round draft pick – has stepped in admirably. He has 39 total tackles, 6 pass deflections, and 3 picks.
Kyle Williams: DT, Buffalo Bills
Saints fans saw a good bit of Williams on Sunday. The 8th year veteran had 9 tackles, 2 tackles for a loss, 2 quarterback hits, and 1.5 sacks. His sack against Drew Brees on the Saints first possession of the 3rd quarter came on a 3rd and 7 and prevented the Saints from trying a long field goal attempt. Williams is having a good season, with 38 tackles and 4 sacks.
Dwayne Bowe: WR, Kansas City Chiefs
Bowe continues to struggle this season. On Sunday, he was targeted just twice and hauled in one reception for 7 yards as Kansas City beat the Browns to remain undefeated. Bowe hasn't recorded more than 66 yards in a game, and he has just 26 receptions for 302 yards and two touchdowns.
