Edwin Edwards reality show debuts Sunday

Viewers across America are about to learn a lot more about the life of one of Louisiana's most colorful figures.  Edwin Edwards' new TV show, The Governor's Wife, debuts Sunday night at 9pm Central Time.

The show centers around the family life of Trina Scott Edwards and her 86 year old husband.

The A&E show was originally scheduled to air over the summer, but Mrs. Edwards says a difficult pregnancy put things on hold.

The series premiere is entitled "Happy Birthday Mr. Governor."

The show begins with Trina Edwards announcing to her teenage sons and step daughters, who are nearly twice her age, that she intends to have a baby.

She says she realizes the show is for entertainment on television, but feels it really captures their unique family dynamic.

"It shows who we really are," Mrs. Edwards explained.  "I think it is going to accurately portray our relationship."
